The High Court has granted permission to two plaintiffs in civ 2024-441-00053 Kopu Rd ltd & anor v Hawkes Bay Regional Council to be representatives of some other Wairoa residents to claim compensation from the HBRC for the floods in June 2024. It is an opt out class action. Here is the notice to potential class members about the class action. The opt out date is 29 May 2026.
